Kathy has been a speech-language therapist for 20 years. She graduated from Dartmouth College in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in Russian Language and Literature. She received a Reynolds Fellowship for study in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in 1985-86. In 1990, Kathy received her Master’s degree in Slavic Linguistics from the University of Michigan.

At this point, Kathy decided to shift from academics to an allied health field, and entered the Master’s program at the Speech, Language,and Hearing Sciences Department in Boulder, Colorado. She received her Master’s degree in 1993, and completed a fellowship at the JFK Center for Developmental Disabilities at University Hospital in Denver.  She received her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA) in 1994.

Since then, Kathy has worked in a variety of settings, including public schools, pediatric rehabilitation, and at the University of Colorado as a clinical instructor.  She has also worked on the development of an early literacy curriculum and has helped write and implement literacy grants for the state of Colorado.
Kathy has been in private practice since 2010.  She specializes in language processing and literacy using evidence-based practices.  Kathy individualizes her work with each student, taking into account strengths as well as needs. She is a member in good standing of both ASHA and the International Dyslexia Association.

Kathy lives in Boulder with her husband and their two daughters. They share their home with a dog, a cat, a lizard and two gerbils. Kathy is a runner and hopes to complete her first half marathon this fall. She volunteers for the reading and garden programs at her children’s school, and enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and (sometimes) cooking.
